Miodrag Janić was born in 1984 in Kraljevo, Serbia. He graduated at University of Ljubljana Medical Faculty in 2010 and obtained his medical licence for practicing internal medicine in 2017. Since then, he has been employed at the Department of Vascular Diseases at University Medical Centre Ljubljana. In 2016 he defended his doctoral thesis titled »Pleiotropic effects of low dose renin–angiotensin system inhibitors and statins on the arterial wall«. The latter was awarded with grand Krka award in 2017. He has been deeply involved in research since the last years of medical school. Under the helm of professor Šabovič and his research team, the AGE group, he has authored and co-authored many research articles, all published in respected peer reviewed journals with impact factor. His research interests cover the fields of cardiovascular and metabolic medicine, particularly atherosclerosis, arterial ageing and impact of diabetes mellitus on arterial wall and function; while his professional interests cover the fields of vascular ultrasonography, peripheral arterial disease, aortic diseases as well as venous thromboembolic diseases.
