Djuro Macut is Associate Professor of Internal Medicine and Endocrinology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade, Serbia. He graduated, completed clinical specialization in internal medicine and endocrinology, and obtained PhD degree at the same institution. Dr Macut was on clinical attachment programs at the University Hospitals in Bologna, Uppsala and Oxford, and completed postgraduate program in Reproductive Medicine from the University of Geneva and World Health Organization. Currently is Deputy Director of the Clinic of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolic Diseases, Clinical Center of Serbia, and president of the Organizing Committee of Frontiers and Innovations in Medicine, Annual Symposium of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Belgrade.
From 2016 is serving as the European Society of Endocrinology (ESE) Executive Committee member (Ex-Officio), ESE Council of Affiliated Societies (ECAS) representative, member of the ESE Congress Committee, member of the 19th and 20th European Congress of Endocrinology Programme Organizing Committees (Lisbon 2017 and Barcelona 2018). His fields of interest are reproductive endocrinology, metabolic endocrinology, and neuroendocrine tumors. Dr Macut is author over 70 original articles, reviews, and book chapters, and was coeditor of the book on PCOS from the Karger’s series Frontiers of Hormone Research. He is a reviewer for international journals (European Journal of Endocrinology, Clinical Endocrinology, Human Reproduction, Metabolism, Canadian Medical Association Journal, etc) and currently serving as editorial board member of the international journals Hormones, Journal of Endocrinological Investigation, Journal of the Endocrine Society and Endocrine.
